We only charge your card payment method once your order has been sent from our warehouse or store, that’s why you may see ‘pending’ or ‘ring-fenced’ amount on your account.
This can happen when your checkout has been refreshed or interrupted during the authorisation process; in this case, the order will fail but the amount will still remain ‘pending’.
All our transactions go through fraud prevention checks and we get authorisation from the bank before anything is taken. But, after authorisation, your transaction can still fail if something is out of stock for example, which means your order is cancelled (we’ll tell you that by email.)
If the transaction fails after authorisation, the money will still be ring-fenced on your account but not debited or taken from it. This ‘reserve’ can last up to 10 working days before it is lifted by your bank – sadly we can’t control or remove it for you.
